New to the blog and just made my first purchase on your Etsy page..the Sneaker dress! Since I go by the golden rule of if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all, I’ll hold back the pj heckling. So in need of homemade napkins though! You go girl!

Funny that you mention cumberbund, Angie! My hope for the dress was that it be kind of “rugged” on the neckline and armholes and then I was going to add a fun Obi belt to dress it back up…I think that’s sort of what you’re saying except to actually keep using the same dress….I’ve already slept in it, so I’m moving on to new purple fabric. Plus, when I woke up this morning, my daughter Ellie said (of me in the purple-humble-pie-nightgown) “wow mommy, you’re a princess!” That’s good enough for me!

I LOVE the color! And, like you, I love ruffles, so the bottom is A+. I wonder if you cut the top from the bottom, and sewed them back together with a pleated cumberbund (?) in between. Or, you could just make a belt to tie over, a think, pleated one! I think it would look just lovely!
