Those of you who know me as ‘friend’ know that Tribeza Magazine is going to feature me and my Etsy Shop in their September Fashion issue. EEEEEEeeeeeek…….Soooooo Exciting For Me!!!!
When they told me that I needed to have a photo shoot with them (oh gosh, really? really? REALLY???? awesome!!!), I calmly accepted. When I hung up the phone it hit me – WHAT WILL I WEAR?????
I’ve been wanting to include dresses with SLEEVES for a long time, I just haven’t taken the time to create the dresses. Since it’s the September issue, I decided that now is the time – Fall Fashion typically includes sleeves. Okay, maybe not in Texas, but in most places in the universe!
I only had about 4 hours, so I was able to come up with 2. The first one I really really lOVE and the second one I really like. I made it a little big for me, so it’s hard to tell how it will look. Maybe one of you needs to purchase it and send me a photo!
Anyway, the two dresses you see here will be popping up soon in various version on my shop. I truly truly appreciate your TRUE feedback – as in – It’s TOTALLY OKAY to suggest changes, improvements, etc!!!
Also, I wanted to note here that I have felt so much love and encouragement and enthusiasm from so many of you this week as I prepared for my interview and photo shoot. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!! It’s hard, often, for women to celebrate other women’s joys, but I have felt nothing but celebration and elation from y’all – I feel truly blessed! Free Tribeza Magazines for Everyone!!!! (okay, there always free, but I’ll keep one reserved for y’all!)
And now for #2:

I offered this style in a camel & ivory version very early in my shop, so this is sort of a reappearance!
So that’s it for now….I’m busy busy busy making things around the house, so do stay tuned for another tutorial!
You know what – I feel like a giveaway…..leave me a comment, on Sunday I’ll randomly choose a winner. The winner will receive your choice: a covered button bracelet OR a fabric covered necklace!

Your ruffle dress is fantastic, I’d love to see that with someone rocking the grey booties!
I love them both, but the second one is my fave! I love the sleeves, I was diagnosed with cancer and have had several surgeries and am very self conscious of my arm. People are always telling me not to worry about it, but when it’s you-you are. I ♥ the sleevleless ones too, but the sleeves will make me feel more comfortable. I have been wanting one of your
dresses since you started on Etsy…yet haven’t been able to afford it. But someone has a birthday coming
up so I have been hinting to my family;)
Thank you for the opportunity, and keep up the good work for us to enjoy;)
How exciting Robbie! I can’t wait to see the photo shoot pics!!!
Yea, sleeves — I always wondered how to keep up those strapless ones
of course i love all of your dresses in their fun goodness. i love the top dress, the shorter capped sleeves are too fun. i’d love to see some pleats on the sleeves, gathered at the very top for a little puffy, but not too much, goodness. the color combo rocks.
the design of the second dress is great. the sleeves are fun and you could do a little V on the bottom of each sleeve with a button on top of the contrasting fabric (the little v). it’s really great as is, too. just thought i’d offer my dreaming tonight since you’ve requested thoughts, ideas, etc. i’d wear this dress in a solid, the right print, or vertical lines…
fun, fun, fun.
Oh Robie! How excellent
I ADORE dress number one! I love what you did at the waist with the detailing!! So darn cute & perfect for fall!
And plaid! Bestill my heart
I also love dress number two! I may have to get one…or both!
Sorry, dear husband of mine
they are both precious dresses- but i LOVE the first one! those ruffles are super yummy!!!
you are amazing & inspiring… looking forward to putting your tutorials to work soon! thanks!!!
I sooooooo want to come to your sewing classes but I live in San Antonio… booo! Everything is sew cute! Have an awesome week!
I love these dresses: I noticed the matched plaids RIGHT AWAY. You are amazing. I can’t wait to see the article.
Hey ladies!!! i love each and every one of your posts…and I really appreciate all the feedback – that’s the really fun part! (really like the idea of fluffing the sleeves up a bit – it won’t work for this particular type of sleeve, but can certainly incorporate that into the next pattern!!!)
I’m working on post for today, so stay tuned for the “winner” of the giveaway!!!
TRIBEZA! Woot! Congrats! That is soooo exciting!
I love, love, love the first one! My readers swoon over pockets, so if on your next ones you can add pockets in the side seams, they’d flip! Grey is my favorite neutral. These are stellar! As always, wonderful work, Robie! :0)
Yea for sleeves!!! Oh- I have a MAJOR arm fetish and it is really hard to find cute outfits with sleeves. Maybe I will finally make the investment now!
