Well, if you read yesterday’s post then you understand why I haven’t posted much in the way of actual created pieces … I’ve been hard at work on a new non profit! It’s super exciting, and I can’t wait to see what comes of it.
Although this fun new project has kept my mind very busy the last few months, I have actually been busy with my machine too…several Etsy orders have been and are being completed, and I finally put my scissors to one of my favorite fabrics…I had less than 2 yards, so I resorted to none other than yet another strapless number. This one is a tunic / mini dress. I have to be honest – I LOVE IT! I’m not sure I can sell it. Still thinking about that … I think I’ll say that if it doesn’t sell by Sunday afternoon, then YAY FOR ME, I’ll pack it up and take it to Vail, Colorado with me!
I’ve also been working on a few things for the girls, a dress for my trip to Vail, Colorado … and my summer project – recovering these:

Hoping they'll look something like this one from Anthropologie by the end of summer! Can. not. wait!
Okay friends … go to sleep.
And don’t forget to check out the City-Wide Sewing Class if you live near Austin!

OMG I l-o-v-e that fabric! What fabric is it? Just keep it, I would! lol You know you have to go with your gut;)
I have some amazing fabric that I found at a thrift store & would love to make a dress out of it, but I have just started sewing(hint, hint)so I don’t think it would be a good idea to just start sewing myself a dress.
Your Austin City Craft will be a big success!
Oh girl, dont’ shy away! The only way to learn is to DO! Maybe don’t start with your favorite fabric, but still use fabric you like so that you’re determined to make it work! I had to start somewhere or else I’d never be able to be where I am now … am I sounding like mom?? There is a great strapless dress featured on Burdastyle.com that you can download and print for about $5 … maybe start there! (I don’t remember if Burda patterns are easy to understand though – so let me check it out before you cut out any fabric! They’re a German company, so they might not write their instructions as clearly as we’re used to!)
Just stumbled, I agree with Chacoy!, BUT I would suggest some funky bold colored printed throws for it. Think yellow and orange against it. With fall around the corner you have all kinds of shades to pick from. Good luck!
Your right though! I could be the next Robie(just dreaming) I am just so terrified to cut any of my fabric. I was thinking that I should just start refashioning some of my current worn out pieces then move up to bigger, patterned(scarier)pieces!
Thank you for the encouragement:)
